Walter Craven Ceramic Projects (I) Ltd. (WCI), a closely held Indian public limited company, was sponsored by Walter Craven Group of Europe to :
(a) modernise the age-old Indian brick and tile industry, now identified as the highly polluting industry.
(b) set up fully mechanised modern brick plants in different parts of India both as reference plant and profit centres
(c) utilise the agricultural, industrial waste
(d) dredge the agricultural, drainage canals, dams, rivers, fast silting up creating national problem, and utilise the dredged materials for brick making, land fill etc thereby preserving the agricultural top soil now being excavated for brick making.

WCI has a mechanical workshop for assembly and trial of the different machineries for manufacturing burnt clay products without load. In course of time has acquired infrastructure in different parts of India having perennial supply of raw material where demand for burnt clay structural products is rising for the growing construction industries. WCI has acquired technology, drawing – designs for manufacturing all the machineries under Moulding, Handling of wet and dry products, Drying and Firing section from the renowned machine builders of Europe. Production capacity of the plants proposed to be manufactured under license and installed on turnkey basis is 10 million to 30 million bricks per year or its equivalent structural products.
